Never an academic over-achiever, watching game shows is where my love for quiz began.
A good quiz is an experience, a lottery, a chance to be a contender. Who knows, you may even win!
I enjoy the role of a good host and the different ways a game can inspire people to think, play and be competitive - but without any fear of losing or being humiliated.
Answering questions is a real joy for many people. The truest pleasure comes from contemplating a question that makes you think, recall and deduce an answer.
If you can’t even begin to dig for an answer the fun is lost. That is what i call ‘trivia’ - meaningless titbits designed to infuriate and depress even the deepest thinkers.
Quiz on the other hand is about shared knowledge, discussion, and deductive thinking. These are the tools of play and communication.
